In a game as large as Red Dead Online, it’s only natural that plenty of odd bugs would be found by the community. While Rockstar spent a while fixing many of the game’s most irritating bugs, plenty still remain. With the developer now largely moved on from Red Dead Online, it’s likely they’re here to stay, too. Still, it’s funny to see what players are still discovering years after the game’s original release. The next Red Dead Redemption would do well to include another disturbing type of mission encounter to maintain its stranger and grittier aspects.
Redditor These-Note-4687 shared an image of the strange Red Dead Online bug they had experienced, and it’s exactly how they described it. Their Red Dead Online horse, originally a Breton, has been transformed into another breed entirely, and more noticeably, it’s bright blue. Strangely, the user hasn’t managed to find a fix for the issue, suggesting this is a more permanent change for their Red Dead Online steed.
Red Dead Online Blue Horse Bug
While jokes and memes flowed freely in the thread, actual solutions were lacking. However, one player did offer up a potential reason as to why their horse had suddenly turned blue. Red Dead Online has been infected by hackers for a long time, at least on the PC version of the game. When in a lobby with a hacker, they can mess with others’ games in a variety of ways, one of which involves changing the color of their horses. While These-Note-4687 didn’t specify which platform they were playing the game on, it’s definitely a plausible scenario in this case.
Considering Rockstar has largely left it behind, it’s hard to remain too positive about the future of Red Dead Online. It’s a shame, given it’s a fantastic experience, although the online portion of the game is mostly kept alive on PC by roleplay communities on RedM nowadays. Some think that Rockstar can’t miss if it takes another shot at Red Dead Online, which is fair. RDO largely took a backseat to Grand Theft Auto Online in the developer’s priorities, and while it’s understandable why this was the case, it would be disappointing to see it happen again with the next iterations of both.
