In WoW SoD Phase Two professions were given a bunch of new recipes to learn and items to make. Though some of these new profession recipes are locked behind the Grime Encrusted Salvage questline in Gnomeregan, an important one is locked behind a different grind altogether: Lesser Arcane Elixir.

As one of the best mana/caster potions for Gnomeregan Lesser Arcane Elixir is in high demand. Whether you craft it yourself as an Alchemist, or pick a few up off the AH, Lesser Arcane Elixir potions are practically required to maximize your DPS output as a caster at the Phase Two endgame.
Lesser Arcane Elixir Effects & Uses
Lesser Arcane Elixir is a Potion that provides a relatively long buff that spellcasters will want to pick up for the Gnomeregan Level 40 Raid. Simply put, the Lesser Arcane Elixir effects increase the amount of damage dealt by Spells by up to 14 for 30 minutes (or until death).
A 14 Spell damage bonus might not seem like a lot, but the buff is about equivalent to the bonuses provided by SoD pre-bis caster gear. If your Gnomeregan groups are close to downing bosses, but can’t do quite enough damage in a short enough time period, consumables like this can give just the boost needed to push past those last few percentage points and get the kill.

How To Get Lesser Arcane Elixir: Recipe & Mats
Lesser Arcane Elixir Recipe Location
To get the Lesser Arcane Elixir recipe, you will have to raise your Waylaid Supplies faction reputation to Revered. For the Alliance, this is the Azeroth Commerce Authority, and the Horde must report to Durotar Supply & Logistics. That means farming, and filling, Waylaid Supply boxes for quite a long time. Though the rewards have been upped with various WoW SoD hotfixes, they can still be quite costly to fill on the AH.
Once you’ve earned Revered, The Lesser Arcane Elixir recipe can be purchased from any of these factions’ vendors for just under 2 gold, though the vendor in Stormwind appears to sell it at just over 2 gold for some reason.
Lesser Arcane Elixir Mats & Price
On the Auction House, a single Lesser Arcane Elixir can go for anywhere from a few dozen silver to well over a Gold apiece, depending on your server population and when you check the AH. Because its best to go into Gnomeregan with a few of these, in case of deaths, this can cost a decent sum every time you go into the Raid.
Players who have reached at least level 190 in the Alchemy profession can learn this Recipe and craft it for personal use or to sell at a decent profit margin. The recipe only requires one Kingsblood, one Goldthorn, and a single Crystal Vial. Kingsblood and Goldthorn can be expensive to buy off the AH, but it’s still far cheaper to make your own with raw materials than to buy the finished product outright.
