Celebrating 40 years of Wrestlemania, WWE 2K24 launched with one of the biggest rosters in the entire WWE 2K series. The game received a lot of praise from critics and players around the world, with many noting that the returning gameplay features and modes from WWE 2K23 and WWE 2K22 are greatly improved and refined. WWE 2K24’s post-launch support is expected to continue well into the end of the year, with new updates and DLC packs releasing throughout the next several months.
WWE 2K24 Seemingly Cut 14 Wrestlers from the Roster
Recently surfaced evidence suggests that WWE 2K24 potentially cut 14 wrestlers from the final product’s roster.
WWE 2K24 update 1.06 is now live on all platforms, with the file size ranging from 1.8 GB on Xbox Series X|S to 2.7 GB on PlayStation 5. The update implements general stability improvements, ensuring that the game performs as intended on each platform. According to the patch notes, the update also addresses concerns that players had about MyFACTION leaderboards, ring announcers in title matches, and the auto complete function in MyGM. Going forward, players should not have issues about MyFACTION leaderboards not loading in correctly, and the “None” setting for ring announcers in title matches should now work properly after installing update 1.06. The bug that prevented players from booking WWE 2K24 superstars in MyGM on different tag teams after using the auto complete function is now fixed as well.
The patch notes also state that “more” issues were addressed in WWE 2K24 update 1.06. However, Visual Concepts did not elaborate on what else was fixed or adjusted in the latest WWE 2K24 patch notes. Many more updates for WWE 2K24 will be released in 2024, and players may continue to report issues they find along the way to Visual Concepts and 2K’s support channels. These updates will be crucial towards the release of WWE 2K25, as 2K and Visual Concepts continue to improve WWE 2K’s signature gameplay and realistic wrestler models.
Moreover, the first DLC for WWE 2K24 will be released on May 15, featuring CM Punk and several superstars from the iconic ECW brand. Four more DLC packs will be released between June and November 2024. Players who own the WWE 2K24 Season Pass will gain access to all five post-launch DLC packs as soon as they’re made available.
