One gamer recently showcased their engineering know-how in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom by creating an adorable albeit deadly mechanized rabbit. The trend of creating machines based on animals continues with this bunny build, catching the attention of the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom community online.

Since its release in May of 2023, Tears of the Kingdom has become one of the most popular Zelda games of all time. One of the reasons for this success is due to the plethora of ways to play the game. While Breath of the Wild gave players greater license over how they played due to its massive open world, Nintendo took things even further in the sequel. Thanks to the Ultrahand and Link’s other new abilities, players can create all sorts of unique contraptions to alter gameplay. Now, even a year after launch, players are still coming up with some memorable builds.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player Creates Basketball Game for Moblins

One Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player could be starting up their own Moblin basketball league thanks to the creative use of some items.

Taking to the Hyrule Engineering subreddit, a user known as kmarkow shared a mechanical rabbit they built in the game. The creation known as “Ruby the Remote Control Rabbot” features an impressive design that looks strikingly similar to a real-life bunny. True to its name, the Reddit user gave the rabbit a red nose and made it remote-controlled. In the video, Link operates a Zonai steering stick as the rabbit traverses the terrain. The creation also had a less pleasant side, as kmarkow revealed the rabbit was equipped with lasers, allowing it to take out Tears of the Kingdom enemies.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player’s Mechanical Rabbit

So far, this creation has been a hit with the Hyrule Engineering subreddit, with some users claiming it was one of the cutest builds they had seen in the game. In the comments, kmarkow shared how they were able to control the mechanized rabbit remotely. According to the player, they used a glitch, which they had learned about from other community members, to maneuver the build remotely with a Zonai steering stick. They also noted this was a “new and improved” version of the bunny. The creator revealed that this model was easier to build, could turn quicker, and looked more like the adorable animal.

Interestingly, kmarkow has a knack for recreating real-life creatures in the game with surprising detail. Previously, they built a replica of a mosquito in Tears of the Kingdom, complete with its long proboscis and pair of wings. Furthermore, they have shared Reddit posts of a sea serpent, a caterpillar bike, and much more.

While some fans are gearing up for the release of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom at the end of September, creative gamers like kmarkow will likely continue to get more mileage out of Tears of the Kingdom. Despite the lack of new DLC, Tears of the Kingdom‘s impressive list of abilities should keep players going for the foreseeable future, meaning more builds based on real-life animals could appear on the internet.
