According to a new job listing, the developer behind the hit Hogwarts Legacy is seemingly working on its next AAA project. Avalanche Software’s 2023 title emerged as one of the year’s biggest games, with Hogwarts Legacy dominating the sales charts. With expectations set high for the studio’s next venture, Avalanche Software appears to be recruiting developers for a new project.
The success of the Harry Potter-based game was unprecedented and marked an interesting year for WB Games. Within the first two weeks of its launch, Hogwarts Legacy was already the biggest Steam launch for WB Games and generated over $1 billion in sales during the first quarter alone. As the game continues to sustain its popularity, the probability of a sequel is also looking more likely, although the studio has yet to confirm a Hogwarts Legacy 2. While it will be some time until the studio announces any of its plans, a recent post might have offered a hint about Avalanche’s next title.
Hogwarts Legacy Releases Blooper Reel to Celebrate Anniversary
In honor of Hogwarts Legacy’s first anniversary, the developers behind the game share a hilarious blooper reel of its development.
As per a job listing, Warner Bros. Discovery is hiring a Lead/Advanced Technical Artist for its Avalanche Software studio. The post specifies that the studio is looking for someone with a “strong Unreal and Python/C++ experience” and that the role involves working with a team on a “high-profile AAA” title. In the backdrop of Hogwarts Legacy‘s dominance in 2023, rumors have already started claiming that Hogwarts Legacy 2 is currently in development. It also doesn’t help that WBD CEO David Zaslov previously stated that the company hopes to keep exploring franchises like Harry Potter in the coming years. However, despite the expectations, the vacancy post doesn’t offer any specific details about Avalanche’s follow-up AAA project.
More Harry Potter Content Post-Hogwarts Legacy Launch
Of course, that’s not to say there haven’t been any post-launch updates for fans. Back in January, the developer stated that the PlayStation-exclusive content on Hogwarts Legacy will be coming to other platforms this summer. Avalanche also teased that “additional updates and features” are on the way for the game, though the studio hasn’t specified what to expect. Either way, time will tell what the future holds for WBD’s gaming IP.
Interestingly, Hogwarts Legacy isn’t the only Harry Potter-related project for WBD in its portfolio. The company is also working on a new Harry Potter series for Max, aiming for a more accurate retelling as opposed to the eight movies. With the series looking for a 2026 release on the platform and rumors of more projects possibly in the pipeline, the next couple of years are already shaping up to be an interesting period for fans.

The game features an original wizarding world adventure set in an unexplored era, where players uncover a hidden truth from the past. Challenging encounters await, such as battles against trolls, Dark Wizards, goblins, and a dangerous villain who poses a threat to the fate of the world.
