A gamer and TikToker found a surprise bonus game after buying a GameCube copy of 007: Nightfire from Goodwill. Secondhand game prices have gotten out of control since the pandemic, especially when it comes to GameCube games. For one reason or another, it seems that used GameCube games have become far more expensive than their PS2 and Xbox counterparts, but there are still plenty of used GameCube games available for cheap.

Mileage may vary, but thrift stores can house incredible deals for all game consoles, GameCube games included. Goodwill is one of the most common thrift store chains in the US, and so gamers are encouraged to check out their local one to see if they can find any solid deals.

Rumor: Nintendo May Have Future Plans for the GameCube Controller

According to a new online rumor, Nintendo could be bringing back the classic Nintendo GameCube controller from the early 2000s in a new way.

TikTok user DeeGee recently shared her Goodwill haul with her 40,000+ followers. One of the games she picked up was a complete in box GameCube copy of 007 Nightfire, the 2002 James Bond FPS that earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its release. But upon taking the disc out of the box, DeeGee discovered that a bonus game was hiding beneath it in the form of Medal of Honor: Rising Sun. Medal of Honor: Rising Sun was released in 2003 and received mixed reviews from critics, but it still managed to find a fanbase, especially those looking for a co-op FPS to play with their friends.

TikToker Finds Surprise Copy of Medal of Honor: Rising Sun

This is far from the first time that someone has purchased a game from Goodwill only to find surprise bonus games inside the box. Last year, Reddit user ElDabstroyero shared their incredible Goodwill find where they purchased a copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl for $2.99, only to find loose discs of New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Mario Galaxy inside. Getting three games for the price of one is an incredible steal, and discoveries like this and DeeGee’s may convince more gamers to start shopping for games at their local Goodwill.

Thrift stores in general can be a great place to shop for video games. There are some thrift stores and Goodwill stores that have started selling their more valuable games on eBay thanks to the rising prices of secondhand video games, but persistent gamers can still find incredible deals on store shelves. For example, one Call of Duty fan found a signed copy of the original game at their local thrift store, and so it never hurts to look.
