Highlights

  • Attention to detail shines in a CoD Zombies fan’s miniature Speed Cola vending machine model, which is true to the game’s design.
  • Limon426’s post on Reddit received praise for its accuracy, sparking requests for more game-related models.
  • Nostalgia for classic Call of Duty Zombies modes is common, ensuring that many fans appreciated the handcrafted creation.

“Adorable” is not a word that would describe many things in Call of Duty‘s violent and gory “Zombies” mode, but one fan’s miniature recreation of the Speed Cola vending machine item may be a rare exception. Standing at only a few inches high, the wood model is a replica of the in-game vending machine that first appeared in Call of Duty: World at War‘s “Nazi Zombies” spin-off mode.

The model, which the fan made in a workshop at one of their classes at school, is surprisingly accurate for its size, featuring not just the Speed Cola logo, but elevated vending buttons and a coin slot to give it some more dimension. They also made it appear dirty and slightly damaged to add to the authentic, worn-out look, further replicating its appearance from the game.

The Call of Duty franchise has plenty of challenging zombie maps that will test the survival skills of players across a variety of locations.

Attention to Detail Shines Through in This Mini Speed Cola Machine

In their original post from the main Call of Duty: Zombies subreddit, Reddit user Limon426 shared an image of themselves holding the model, showing just how small it really is, as they can easily hold it in one hand. Other users were quick to praise the fan’s work, complimenting how realistic the Perk machine looked, with some asking the user to make more models of some of CoD Zombies’ weapons, power-ups, and soda machines.

Originating from Call of Duty: World at War, the Speed Cola machine also famously appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops and its sequels, and is one of many different soda-themed upgrades players can acquire in the game. However, with Speed Cola giving the player increased reload speed, many players prioritize it after getting Juggernog, as it can help them survive several waves of undead foes.

While Treyarch’s Call of Duty Zombies modes have continued the tradition of soda-themed upgrades in their zombies modes, newer games like Black Ops Cold War feature redesign machines to better suit the era that the game is set. Thus, many Call of Duty fans have a deep-rooted nostalgia for the original designs from World at War and the early Black Ops games.

In any case, having the materials and talent to create things from a favorite video game or other property is likely to make any devoted fan excited, since it’s almost like having custom merchandise no one else owns. Of course, some users mentioned that they would love to have one of these mini perks should the user decide to sell them online, though whether that happens remains to be seen.
