Highlights

  • Genshin Impact fans have been waiting for the characters Albedo and Itto to make a comeback and are anxious about the timing of their rerun in Version 4.4.
  • The waiting list for 5-Star characters in Genshin Impact Version 4.4 shows the number of patches since the last appearance of each character, helping players plan their gacha pulls.
  • Recent leaks suggest the possibility of birthday banners in Genshin Impact, which could guarantee at least one character rerun per year and address the need for more frequent appearances of certain characters.

It’s shaping up to be a Geo-centered update on Genshin Impact in the near future, as both Albedo and Itto have been missing for over ten patches since their last banner appearance. Waiting lists for limited characters are a favorite in the Genshin Impact community, as it helps players chart their gacha journey by being mindful of the last time a 5-Star character had their rerun. While there is always a chance that an Event Banner in Genshin Impact receives an early rerun, as is the case with Yoimiya, HoYoverse tends to prioritize characters who haven’t had a reappearance in recent versions.

Sometimes, a few 5-Stars fall through the cracks of an otherwise semi-organized schedule, such as when Eula went missing for over 500 days before making her return in Version 3.8. Similarly, it’s been over a year since Albedo and Itto had their Event Banners, and Genshin Impact fans are starting to get anxious about having to wait even longer. Given that Genshin Impact Version 4.3 featured Yoimiya and Ayaka on the banners instead of Albedo and Itto, the timing of their next rerun has become an even bigger question mark.

The 5-Star character waiting list was posted by RapidFresh on the main Genshin Impact subreddit. The waiting lists designed by RapidFresh have been a mainstay in the community, especially after its modern layout debuted in Version 3.0. In addition to Albedo and Itto reaching double digits in Version 4.4, one other thing that also jumps out is Shenhe and Ganyu being primed for a rerun. The adoptive daughters of Xianyun will each receive a Lantern Rite skin in Genshin Impact Version 4.4, yet will curiously be omitted from the Event Banners in favor of Nahida, Yae Miko, and Xiao.

While Event Banners for Genshin Impact Version 4.5 will only release in the middle of March 2024, it’s strongly rumored that Albedo will feature alongside Chiori as one half of its limited character selection. Shenhe, Ganyu, Itto, and Nilou are all strong possibilities for having a rerun in Version 4.5, though there is also another possibility that Genshin Impact players should consider.

Recent leaks suggest that Genshin Impact could add birthday banners to the mix, possibly with its own separate Pity system, as a means of guaranteeing at least one character rerun per year. Though it remains to be seen if and when a third banner will be implemented in Genshin Impact, the data observed by the waiting lists has been the biggest argument for its necessity.
