, showcasing the enduring appeal of the game.
Halo has been one of the most consistently popular video game series of all time, ever since the first game was released in 2000. There have been many games released in the first-person-shooter franchise since then, but a lot of fans are the most fond of the first three games in the series that were made by Bungie. This initial trilogy told a great, interwoven story, and allowed players to wreak havoc against The Covenant as Master Chief.

All Levels in Halo 3, Ranked
Halo 3 had a truly memorable campaign, and while there were a few lackluster levels, most were incredible.
These original games may seem a bit dated by today’s standards, but they are still excellent. Fortunately, new players get to experience the first and second Halo games in an updated format, as Halo: Combat Evolved was remastered for the games’ 10th anniversary, and Halo 2 was updated for the release of The Master Chief Collection in 2014. However, Halo 3 is yet to be remastered in the same way, but there are plenty of reasons to do so.
5 Add Details For The Next Game
A Halo 3 Remaster Could Get Fans Hyped For Halo 7
One of the biggest improvements to the Halo 2 remaster is that 343 Studios decided to overhaul the old cutscenes, and remake them using stunning CGI. However, the remaster of this classic game also adds additional cutscenes to the game.
Both the start and end of Halo 2 in The Master Chief Collection feature a new cutscene showing The Arbiter telling Spartan Locke about the events of that game. It is only a small change, but this added dialogue helped to prepare fans for the upcoming Halo 5, where both Locke and The Arbiter have a key role. Therefore, a remaster of Halo 3 could use the same trick to tie this game with a future Halo game. The cross promotion potential would get players to pick up Halo 3 again, and get them excited about what is to come next.
4 Updating The Master Chief Collection
Get New Fans Playing The Series Again
For those who do not know, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a game that was released in 2014, which gathered together all the previous Halo games in one package. In fact, this bundle launched the original remaster of Halo 2. With all these games in one place, fans of the series can now go back and play through the first four Master Chief adventures on modern hardware, and join friends online to play through classic maps once again.

Every Halo Game, Ranked From Worst To Best
Though the Halo franchise doesn’t churn out a title yearly, it has amassed a collection of phenomenal games, as evidenced by their ratings.
The Master Chief Collection was a big success for 343 Studios, and the bundle had sold upward of 81 million units by 2019. Naturally, the sales numbers of a game collection that is nearly ten years old have fallen, but new Halo games are still selling well. There is clearly an appetite for this FPS franchise, and so perhaps adding a remastered version of Halo 3 to the collection would get players to buy the game as new, or download their copy of the games again so they can finish the fight.
Halo Has Grown Beyond Just A Video Game
When Halo: Combat Evolved was first released, the game was praised for its deep story-telling and cinematic feel. As such, many fans hoped that the series would one day receive a live-action adaptation. After many failed attempts to get a Halo movie off the ground, Halo players had their prayers answered when Paramount announced that a live action Halo TV series would be released on the studio’s new streaming service, Paramount+.
The show has done a good job of bringing the world of Halo to life, and it receives a respectably-sized audience as a result. However, a new Halo game is yet to be released while the show has been running, which is a shame, seeing as how a new game would definitely get more people watching the show. Therefore, remastering and releasing Halo 3, a Halo game that many fans think highly of, would also act as great promotion for the show.
2 Completing The Trilogy
Not Remastering Halo 3 Makes The Series Feel Incomplete
After the release of Halo 2 in 2004, the entire gaming world was waiting for the iconic saga of Master Chief and the Halo rings to finally be completed. Luckily, Bungie were aware of how best to tell a great story, and decided that this story would best be wrapped up in a trilogy, rather than eking out plot details over several more games just to sell more copies. As such, the announcement of Halo 3 was accompanied by a tagline: ‘Finish the Fight’.

6 Best Final Missions In Halo Games
The Halo series has stunned fans for decades with their thrilling final missions.
Players were eager to get their hands on the next game to see how the trilogy would end, and Halo 3 did very well as a result, selling 5 million copies in 2007 alone. This makes the first Halo trilogy one of the most successful gaming trilogies of all time, yet the saga is now left feeling incomplete. With both of the first games already remastered, jumping into Halo 3 now feels like leaping back in time. As a result, a new remaster of Halo 3 would perfectly complete the trilogy and give fans a way to play through this initial saga in the best way possible.
1 Halo 3 Is One Of The Best Games In The Franchise
Fans Love This Game And Would Love To Play It Again
Halo 3 launched with a highly respectable Metacritic score of 94. Therefore, it’s safe to say that this is a game that almost everyone enjoys. Compare that to the scores of 84 and 87 that the previous two Halo games received, and it is clear to see just how beloved the third game in the franchise is. Halo 5 and Halo Infinite were still reviewed positively, yet they do not compare to the lofty score that Halo 3 received.
The fact that players are still downloading The Master Chief Collection to play this great game also shows that fans still have an appreciation for Halo 3. Therefore, Halo 3 deserves a remaster simply because it is one of the best games in the Halo series so far.
