Nintendo Switch owners in the United States have until the end of the day to claim Catlord free of charge. This time-limited freebie is being offered as part of No Gravity Games’ Switchmas Wonderland initiative that saw the publisher pledge to give away 11 Nintendo Switch games in December 2023.

The promotion is planned to run from December 11 through December 20. Nintendo Switch owners were able to claim feature-rich puzzler Nonograms Prophecy for free on the first day of the giveaway.

The second day of Switchmas Wonderland featured Creepy Tale 2, with No Gravity Games now following up on that move by giving away Catlord. Of all the titles that were featured in the promo so far, this is by far the newest of the lot, having only reached the eShop on August 31. Developed by MrCiastku, Catlord is a rather adorable action game that tasks the player with surviving hordes of enemies in an ever-shrinking arena, battle royale-style.

As a reminder, Switchmas Wonderland freebies are only available to fans with U.S. Nintendo accounts who already own all of the titles that were previously given away as part of the promo. On its own, that condition could have made this chain-based initiative prohibitively expensive to jump into for anyone who missed its first couple of days. In order to circumvent that issue, No Gravity Games is treating all of the participating titles to extremely steep discounts as soon as their free periods come to a close. Doing so makes the promo significantly more accessible for latecomers, while also serving as a clever and fairly consumer-friendly way of boosting the publisher’s sales.

No Gravity Games has hence already given away $33.97 worth of titles as part of its holiday promotion. The company plans to continue this streak with another half a dozen free games, offering one per day until December 19. The grand finale of Switchmas Wonderland is happening on December 20, when No Gravity Games pledged to give away two additional titles, for a total of 11. Overall, even those who missed out on the first few days of the promotion are likely to find this giveaway to be a great opportunity to grab some excellent Nintendo Switch indie games on the cheap.
