The Stardew Valley update has finally been released, bringing many new features to the game that players have been on the edge of their seats to finally get. Not only are some amazing things added, like a new farmland, new events, and better relationships, but players can also do some weird things like drink mayonnaise.
There is a huge community of Stardew Valley mod creators, so it is a given that players will want to mod the new updated version of the game. However, is it smart to do so? This guide will share some more information about whether you should add mods to your version of Stardew Valley.
Stardew Valley: How to Drink Mayonnaise
Stardew Valley’s Update 1.6 lets you chug Mayonnaise straight from the jar. Here’s how you can drink this creamy condiment.
Should You Use Mods Stardew Valley 1.6?
The developer of Stardew Valley stated in a tweet that the game would require creators to update their mods in order for them to work for the game, saying: “PSA for people who use mods: A ton of mods are already updated for 1.6 (check out https://smapi.io/mods). Also, I’ve added a public steam branch that will let you stay on version 1.5.6 if you choose. I recommend trying out 1.6 without mods, but it’s up to you.”.
The developer of Stardew Valley recommends players give the game a try without mods, seemingly promising that it will be better than ever before. There are already a ton of mods that are ready to go for the new update, you will find a list of the unbroken mods for update 1.6 below:
- SMAPI
- Stardew Valley Expanded
- Content Patcher
- NPC Map Locations
- Chests Anywhere
- CJB Cheats Menu
- Lookup Anything
- Farm Type Manager
- Tractor Mod
- Automate
With these mods still working, it will make it very easy for players to be able to dive back into modding their Stardew Valley game. But it might just be worth while to listen to the developers and see how you like the game without the added mods, since the game has received so many new features. Check out the official patch notes to see everything that has been added.
That is everything to know about whether you should mod Stardew Valley or turn the mods off. While there are so many great mods, either way is a great way to play the game.
