Skyrim: How to Get Hagraven Claws

Alchemy is a skill in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that will be useful during any playthrough, especially if you have Hagraven Claws in your pockets. Hagraven Claws are an ingredient used in plenty of potions, but aren’t among the most common ingredients in the world of Skyrim.

Hagraven Claws’ effects include Resist Magic, Lingering Damage Magicka, Fortify Enchanting, and Fortify Barter. They can be combined with 31 other items to create potions in Skyrim. Here’s how to get your hands on them

How to Get Hagraven Claws in Skyrim

This ingredient is rare, so it is not that easy to find. There are several methods the Dragonborn can use to stock up. Some are hazardous, but the safer methods require players to dish out gold.

Kill Hagravens

Hagraven are avian creatures found across Skyrim. They emit a distinctive wheezing sound, making them easy to identify. When you kill a Hagraven, you will receive Hagraven Feathers, along with the chance to receive Hagraven Claws, and sometimes a Daedra Heart. You can find them in Hagraven Nests. Killing them isn’t easy, but it is one of the best ways to get this ingredient.

Random Loot

Sometimes, while exploring the world of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Hagraven Claws will appear in random chests. Usually, this ingredient can be found in apothecary’s satchels.

Buy in Alchemy Shops

Since Hagraven Claws are a potion ingredient, the Dragonborn can buy them in various Alchemy shops. Each store may have a different number of Hagraven Claws in their inventory, which changes as the stock rotates and replenishes:

• The Hag’s Cure: At the Markarth pharmacy, you can purchase 3 Hagraven Claws.
• The Mortar and Pestle: The Dawnstar shop has a chance to carry 1 to 3 Hagraven Claws.
• The White Phial: If you visit this shop in Windhelm, you can buy 2 Hagraven Claws .
• Angeline’s Aromatics: Solitude is a major city located in Haafingar, where you can find the store Angeline’s Aromatics. The store has 2 Hagraven Claws in its assortment.
• Elgrim’s Elixirs: This store is found in Riften, and you can find 2 Hagraven Claws there.
