Developer Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone reveals that a new update is in the works for Stardew Valley, and fans won’t have to wait long for it.

Stardew Valley player Hansekins unexpectedly found out that players can use the new carrot crop to feed horses, giving the rideable mounts a slight speed boost. Crops in Stardew Valley serve as the main focus of the game, offering players the ability to grow various foods through different seasons to fulfill bundle requirements in the Community Center, complete notice board request, and even cook dishes to boost their character’s stats. However, Update 1.6 allows stat boosts from carrots to be used with horses. Previously, food could not be given to horses outside certain PC mods, though these did not include any noticeable stat boosts. With the new carrots in Update 1.6, players can now feed their horse for an approximate 6% speed increase. While the change may be small, it can help make traveling around Pelican Town a bit faster and adds a fun interactive element with the horses.
